A lot has been written about Jade Goody’s cancer battle but one of the topics most papers have a problem with is the possibility of Jade Goody’s eventual death being filmed in the name of entertainment.

Jade Goody has done wonders for cancer awareness but this would probably be a step too far and could potentially undo all of the positive work she has done for the illness.  Everyone knows about cancer.  Most people know someone who has been diagnosed with cancer.  Despite this, it isn’t a subject which is talked about because it is depressing.  It does need to be talked about though.  People who have been diagnosed with cancer do not fight the disease alone.  Sharon Osbourne recently described it as a family illness.  It effects everyone in the family.  It also effects people’s finances too as a direct result.  To anyone who has been diagnosed with cancer and who has critical illness cover, at least finances are not a source of worry.  Anyone with cancer and no critical illness cover have a lot more to worry about.

It is reported that Jade Goody will not be filmed dying which, hopefully, is true.  She has been courageous in her battle and focused on making the most amount of money for her children in as short a time as possible.  What parent wouldn’t want the best for their children?

People need to talk about this dreadful disease more, understand it more, and plan for it more.
